As reported by GlobeSt.com, the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Planning Authority was established by the state this past spring in the wake of BRAC's decision to close the 89-year-old base and move its operations to Aberdeen, MD. That closure is expected to occur by 2011 when the post's operations are replicated in Maryland, and the authority has oversight for redevelopment of more than 1,100 acres in five different communities.
FMERPA chairman Robert Lucky has also announced that the authority will begin advertising for other permanent staff positions, all of which will report to Cosentino. Among the positions to be filled are deputy director, property coordinator, staff accountant and administrative assistant.
