Commenting on the upcoming opening, Sue Brush, senior vice president of Westin Hotels & Resorts, says, "Expansion in the Caribbean is key to our growth strategy. A resort of this caliber on the magnificent Dawn Beach is an ideal addition to our global collection of hotels."
The hotel will feature 317 rooms and suites, oceanfront dining, two lounges, a full-service spa, a casino, retail shops, a pool, poolside and beach cabanas, hot tub, swim-up bar and more than 20,000 sf of meeting and event space.
The project, upon completion, will also feature a total of 99 condominium units that will range in price from $895,000 to $2 million. A spokesperson for the developer says the first building containing 24 units is near completion. In addition, the resort will include a 10,124-sf Hibiscus Spa that will offer 13 treatment rooms.
Columbia Sussex is the developer, owner and operator of 85 hotels and seven casinos worldwide. Starwood Hotels & Resorts owns or manages a portfolio of approximately 850 hotel and resort properties in more than 95 countries. The Westin franchise now has more than 127 hotels and resorts in more than 31 countries fly its flag.
