BURBANK, CA-Specialty women's retailer Loehmann's has signed a deal to lease 25,000 sf of space at the Burbank Town Center in a store that is scheduled to open by the spring. The deal gives Loehmann's exterior visibility at the Downtown Burbank retail venue, according to representatives of property owner Crown Realty & Development and leasing agent General Growth Properties.
The Loehmann's store will be at the corner of Burbank and San Fernando boulevards, according to Jim O'Neil, EVP at Crown Realty. Loehmann's will be the 13th new tenant announced at the property since the beginning of 2006 and the 29th since Crown and General Growth began a leasing and renovation program in May 2003.
Crown and General Growth have completed two phases of renovations and are in the midst of a third phase. The first two included improved pedestrian access to the Downtown Burbank Village District and re-branding the mall as Burbank Town Center from its former name as Media City Center, along with a number of other improvements and additions.
The third phase, which will involve a number of changes scheduled to be in place by the end of 2006, will include new stores and retailers, a regional marketing program, a revamp of the mall's existing Victoria's Secret location to the chain's new store format and a host of other changes.
