The five-story hotel, built in 2002, has 162 rooms and is located off Route 527. On-site restaurants include a Courtyard Café and Ruby Tuesday's. Newport Hospitality Group Inc., of Williamsburg, VA, will manage the hotel under the new ownership. Newport manages 25-hotel properties, mostly along the southern East Coast states.
NAI Global Hotels represented the seller and arranged the deal, specifically regional vice president Philippus Miller III, managing director Daniel Beider and regional vice president Sanjeev Misra.
Miller notes that the Somerset Marriott has "performed admirably" since its construction. "The forecast for the New York metropolitan area is for more of the same."
