CHERRY HILL, NJ-The local zoning board has unanimously approved the site plan for the Tradition at Cherry Hill, a garden-style apartment complex proposed by the Philadelphia-based Klein Co. The company is set to start construction by the end of 2007, according to officials.
"This has been a long process, including the securing of a use variance to reposition the property from commercial to multifamily use," says Alon Barzilay, VP of development for Klein. "We are in it for the long haul, and now that the project has been approved we can focus our efforts on moving forward."The approved site plan includes 17 two- and three-story residential buildings on the 13-acre site, which is located at the intersection of Route 70 and Birchwood Park Dr. in this South Jersey township. The project's design, prepared by the architectural firm of Barton & Associates, is what the developer terms "neo-traditional." Also part of the plan are a swimming pool, a health club with a clock tower, and a welcoming green.
