DOVER, NJ-The 12,000-sf former Orange Carpet store building in this city's downtown area has been sold for "more than $2 million," according to John Schilp, managing member of Schilp & Co. Realtors of Chester, NJ. The buyer was Orfilio Chaviano of Bravo Supermarkets of Manalapan, NJ; the seller was the Valiant Corp., owner/operator of the Orange Carpet store.
In a related transaction, Valiant Corp. has acquired and relocated to the 6,000-sf building at 49 Route 10 East in Roxbury, NJ. Both transactions were handled by Schilp & Co. vice president Jeffrey Barnish. Orange Carpet's move was related to a need for more retail space and "a separation of that space from our administrative warehousing and commercial department," says Valiant Corp.'s Bob Hanson.
According to Bravo's Chaviano, the local building will be "fully renovated" prior to its conversion to a supermarket. The building will feature such elements as "large unobstructed front windows."
The building has frontage on Blackwell St., this city's main commercial street, as well as on Dickerson Ave. The site has parking for 25 cars and is located within walking distance of the city's commuter rail station.
