STAFFORD TWP., NJ-Construction is under way for McKinley Plaza, a 37,000-sf strip shopping center in this Ocean County township. The developer of the property is the Andev Corp., based in the West Creek section of Stafford Township. The project is slated for completion in the spring.

Convenience retailing will anchor McKinley Plaza, which is located on McKinley Avenue across from the Perry's Lake residential community. Heading the list of tenants that have signed on to date is Citibank, which will operate a branch on-site. Also lined up so far are a salon, Lather Me Body Bath and Barber Shop, as well as Garlic Grill, an Italian restaurant, and a branch of the Toms River-based Kum Sung Karate School.

Andev Corp., headed by Len Anderson, has largely been known as a homebuilder in the Southern New Jersey region. McKinley Plaza, however, marks the company's second retail development here. Andev developed and owns the six-store Driftwood Plaza on Route 72 nearby. The two shopping centers will be indirectly linked by a connector road, and traffic-related improvements related to the newer shopping center will include three new traffic lights.
