"We've been flying below the radar screen for the past year, building people and technology systems," Scott Wilson, president of the Dallas-based firm's capital markets group, tells GlobeSt.com. "Now, we're aggressively moving forward on the people building." The Trammell Crow Co.-CB Richard Ellis merger has opened the door to tap a seasoned pool of professionals in Wilson's plan to hike the head count to 48. "The merger has opened the opportunity for another national player and leader to emerge," he points out.
The first victory was last month's hiring of a TCC top retail team--eight executives representing more than 85 years' experience. C. Whitney Knoll, head of the Atlanta-based team, was made an executive vice president with the relocation. Teammates H. Bradley Peterson in Orlando and Lynn DeMarco in New York City are now Staubach senior vice presidents. Associate titles went to Richard M. Reid and James R. Hamilton, also in Atlanta. The balance of Knoll's team--Jeremiah Van Dora and Kevin J. Hurley, both in Atlanta, and Justin M. Greider in Orlando--are analysts. Knoll's team will be working side by side with Staubach senior vice presidents David Wojciechowski in New York City and Tom Statham in Atlanta.
"This is a milestone for what we've been building for the past year," Wilson emphasizes. "We will be following up with other significant announcements in the near future. We are rolling out what will be a premier provider for nationwide investment sales." Staubach officially sanctioned the capital markets group last year although its brokers have been working the investment sales arena nearly 15 years.
Wilson says other executive vice presidents will be hired within regions as teams go into place for investment sales of all property types. Staubach Capital Markets now has offices in Atlanta, Chicago, New York City, Orlando, Los Angeles, Orange County, CA and its homeport of Dallas.
"We are going to round out the teams in our existing markets," Wilson says, "and expand into new markets, with individuals as well as teams. It will all be a team of senior people who will work together."
