"The purpose of the plan is to outline the NJMC's direction regarding economic growth in the Meadowlands district for the next 12 months," says a spokesman for the commission, "as well as to begin establishing appropriate mechanisms to handle the expected increase in jobs and money generated over the next 15 years."
Among the items that are expected to be approved by the board is a proposal to create a small business incubator "geared at local, small businesses owned by women and minorities," the spokesman says. Also on the agenda is the formation of an office of economic growth at the NJMC. The Meadowlands Regional Chamber of Commerce is slated to present updated information on the Meadowlands Employment Opportunity Center.
