Roeder mostly represents landlords, a lot of them. At C&W, he and his team has built up a class A listing portfolio totaling 4.3 million sf, one of the largest books of work in the city. In 2006, he gained the listings for 425 Market St., a 930,000-sf building owned by MetLife, the Lucasfilm Ltd.'s 850,000-sf Letterman Digital Arts Campus in the Presidio and, in partnership with JRT Realty Group, Embarcadero Center West, a 475,138-sf class A office building owned by TIAA-CREF. Other clients of Roeder include Beacon Partners, Prudential and Kennedy & Assoc.
Roeder declined to discuss whether he expects to retain all his clients through the transition. Local industry executives tell GlobeSt.com that listings tend to follow the broker rather than the brokerage house unless there is an overriding corporate-level agreement.
As for why he's making the move, Roeder tells GlobeSt.com he "just felt like JLL, with our team's addition, is the new market leader, especially in representing landlords, and their platform is very well suited for our business. I like the direction in which they are going on a local and national level."
Joe Cook, C&W's Bay Area managing director, was not immediately available Monday morning for comment.
