Grubb & Ellis has opened the district office at 2375 E. Camelback Rd. Eric Forshee is regional senior vice president while Kevin Rude is vice president and director of management services and Jackie Hines is senior portfolio manager.
The Chicago-based Grubb & Ellis currently has 10 million sf under management in the western region. According to Forshee, he hopes to double, possibly even triple that amount in 2007. The new office's territory includes Arizona, West Coast, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Wyoming and Utah.
"Grubb & Ellis has great infrastructure and great resources, but not the strongest presence on the West Coast," Forshee tells GlobeSt.com. "This is a great opportunity for them to build that presence."
Forshee plans to build the presence through relationships he forged while at TCC and Insignia/ESG in Phoenix. He's also talking to employee prospects across the region for the Phoenix and Los Angeles offices. He's hesitant at this stage to put an exact number on how many people ultimately will be hired.
Forshee says Grubb & Ellis launched the district management office as part of its overall five-year aggressive growth strategy. "Grubb & Ellis has one of the largest brokerages staffs in the country, especially in Phoenix, and they're building throughout West Coast," he adds. "That combined with strong property management gives clients a strong alternative in today's market."
