BEVERLY HILLS, CA-Galaxy Commercial Holding of Beverly Hills has slated a summer opening of an 11-story former office building at 8601 Wilshire Blvd. that the developer is converting into a 37-unit luxury apartment tower called the Blu. Galaxy expects the first residents will move into the building this summer, into units of one and two bedrooms that will range from 900 sf to 1,300 sf and are expected to rent for $4,000 to $7,000.
Designed by Gensler, the Blu occupies a spot in what Galaxy calls "the new luxury lifestyle district within Beverly Hills." The location is close to West Hollywood, Restaurant Row on La Cienega Boulevard and the shopping of Rodeo Drive and Beverly Center.
The Blu units will be wired for digital cable, multiple phone lines and high-speed Internet access. Amenities will include a full-service concierge, a doorman, a fitness center with Precor, Life Fitness and Cybex equipment, a media room with a coffee bar, WiFi connectivity, conference call capabilities and a rooftop terrace lounge.
