The long-term lease renewal for the Stamford, CT-based firm's 71,500-sf data center and additional lease for another 16,130 sf at the property, eclipses the original Cervalis lease for its data center in 2000 as the largest lease transaction since IBM engaged in some expansion initiatives more than 15 years ago in Dutchess County, according to a local economic development official.
The Cervalis renewal and expansion leases were announced by Howard Greenberg of Howard Properties Ltd., of White Plains, which is the exclusive tenant representative for Cervalis.
Cervalis, a provider of IT infrastructure services, business continuity and rapid recovery solutions for business, operates data centers in Wappingers Falls and a site in Stamford. Both properties are designed for fault-tolerance and feature fully redundant power grids with multiple feeds from several substations and have uninterrupted power supply systems and backup generators to all equipment.
