IRVINE, CA-Western National Property Management has enlarged upon its 27,000-unit portfolio with a contract for leasing and management of a new luxury complex being developed in Downtown L.A. by G.H. Palmer Associates, one of the premier builders of apartments in the Downtown area. The new Western National assignment is the 571-unit Orsini complex at 505 North Figueroa St., one of 18 G.H. Palmer multifamily properties now under management by Western National.

G.H. Palmer has completed units in the first phase of the project and expects the second phase of the Orsini to be ready for move-ins this summer, according to Craig Rooney, regional vice president of business development for Western National Property Management. The 571 apartments will feature 25 different floor plans including studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units.

The Orsini assignment expands on an existing arrangement between Western National and Palmer in which the Irvine-based company became the sole manager for Palmer's portfolio. Western National also recently won a contract to manage a six-property, 677-unit portfolio of apartment complexes in Los Angeles County, the Inland Empire and Orange County on behalf of Dr. Robert Ko.

Besides its role as a property manager, Western National is the second-largest owner of multifamily housing in Orange County, behind the Irvine Co. Western National Property Management is one of three entities under the umbrella of the 43-year-old Western National Group, which also includes Western National Construction and a development and acquisition arm called Western National Realty Advisors.

Rooney notes that the new Orsini complex will offer luxury amenities including a clubhouse, a virtual sports center, an on-site park, two resort-style pools, a massage and tanning center and a 31-seat screening room. Besides its properties in Downtown Los Angeles, Palmer also owns complexes in Canyon Country, Santa Clarita, Woodland Hills and Upland.
