Footstar is a footwear retailer in the discount/family footwear sector, selling through licensed departments operated by Meldisco, mostly in Kmart and Rite Aid stores, while also distributing its own Thom McAn brand. Spun off by Melville Corp. a decade ago as a separate company, Footstar emerged from its Chapter 11 reorganization a year ago. The disposition of the building is related to that reorganization.
