FREEHOLD TWP., NJ-Shore Point Distributing Co., a beer distributor, has broken ground for a new 270,000-sf warehouse/distribution facility at the site of its existing headquarters complex at 183 Three Brooks Rd. here. The new complex, consisting of three one-story buildings, is expected to be ready for operations in February 2008.
After a year-long approval process tied to the size of the complex vis-à-vis residential neighbors, construction is just under way. Company officials say the new facility will consolidate three other facilities under one roof for more efficient operations. Shore Point Distributing is a privately held company founded in the 1930s and still owned by the Annarella family.
The site plan calls for about two-thirds of the new space occupied by W/D operations, and the rest offices. Company officials say the project involved the purchase of additional adjoining property to move the facility farther away from an adjacent residential neighborhood. Actual construction is being done by Paragon Freehold Land LLC, a locally based group. Further details were not released.
Shore Point Distributing distributes to retailers in a half-dozen New Jersey counties. Its primary brand is Coors, but it also wholesales such brands as Samuel Adams, Corona and Sierra Nevada.
