the project

"We are excited to see our plans for the new arts and entertainment district come to fruition," says Todd Katz, managing partner of redeveloper Broadway Arts Center LLC, a group of long-time business owners in this oceanfront city. "This approval will allow work in phase one to begin, including retail and entertainment shops and restaurants, as well as office space and live/work units.

"During phase one, the regenerated Paramount Theater will be brought back to life, and construction will start on a new location for the New Jersey Repertory Company," Katz says. "These two performing arts theaters will anchor the project and make Long Branch a cultural destination on the Jersey Shore."

Situated along this city's Broadway, the project will contain 60 shops, restaurants and entertainment uses in additon to the two theaters. Also part of the mix are 543 residential units, 1,600 enclosed parking spaces and amenity space open for public use.
