The address of the 11-story structure, which will include ground-level retail and a conference center, will be 100 K St. This is J Street Development's third project in NoMA. It also has in the works 111 K St., which is scheduled to break ground this fall and be delivered in 2009.

111 K St. is similar in layout to its sister building across the street, 100 K St., in that it is an 11-story, 90,000-sf office condo with ground-level retail space and a conference center on the second floor. Six of the building's floors are committed to private-sector buyers, according to J Street Development president Bruce Baschuk, who says that negotiations are under way for the remaining three floors of office space.

J Street Development will also be redeveloping a warehouse at 1111 N. Capitol St. Currently it is leased by the Smithsonian Institution until next year.

"We are very bullish on this exciting new neighborhood," says Baschuk, who is also founding chairman of the NoMA Business Improvement District. "NoMA provides us with the perfect opportunity to implement our vision for bringing bold and meaningful change to the Washington, DC streetscape and positively affect the community."
