Keene joins the CBRE Investors global investor services team, which now consists of professionals in North America, the UK and Europe, Asia and Australasia. His appointment builds upon CBRE Investors' existing presence in the region, according to Michael K. McMenomy, global head of investor services for the Los Angeles-based firm.

Keene formed his own company, 3rdMark Pty Ltd., in 2006 and is based in Melbourne. His primary role on behalf of CBRE Investors will be to build upon the firm's existing client base in the region.

McMenomy explains that CBRE Investors has been active in the Australian market and with local investors through several of its global investment vehicles and considered this an opportune time to solidify its presence in the market. CBRE Investors is already offering several global investment options to its clientele in the region, including CBRE global real estate securities and CBRE Investors global multi manager.

CBRE global real estate securities provides access to the rapidly expanding market for publicly traded real estate securities around the world. CBRE Investors global multi manager offers clients exposure to real estate through investment in pooled property funds such as property unit trusts, managed funds and limited partnerships.

The expansion by CBRE Investors in Australia and New Zealand follows several transactional-level appointments by the firm in Asia about nine months ago as part of its global expansion. In addition, although the company is already firmly established in Europe and the US, it has recently added investor services personnel in the UK, Europe and the US, including the appointment of an East Coast-based team to provide dedicated expertise for merger and acquisitions-type transactions around the world.
