NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ-Yeshiva Tiferes Boruch, currently based in Springfield, is under contract to buy a 120-year-old mansion on Rockview Avenue in this city's Washington Park historic district. Current owner Yearly Meeting Friends Home had, until recently, used the McCutcheon Mansion as a nursing home. If the sale clears, it would be converted to a school for religious studies.

The deal was brokered by Allen Rosenberg of Coldwell Banker's Warren Township office. Terms of the pending sale were not released; the property had been listed with an asking price of $2.3 million. Closure of the pending sale depends upon a use variance on the property, which is currently zoned for residential use.

The two-acre property consists of the original 15,000-sf Queen Anne-style mansion with 17 private rooms. Also part of the property is additional, newer building space consisting of a nursing home addition and apartments. The original mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
