NEWPORT BEACH, CA-Real estate investment bank Buchanan Street Partners has bolstered its management team in the wake of its recently announced partnership with the Los Angeles-based TCW Group, naming a chief financial officer, a senior vice president of asset management and a vice president of business development. Robert Brunswick, president and CEO of Buchanan Street, says that the new hires represent the company's commitment to strengthening the Buchanan management team to "capitalize on the expanded balance sheet capacity resulting from our new relationship with TCW."

The TCW Group Inc., as GlobeSt.com previously reported, has acquired a majority interest in Buchanan Street, which will continue to operate autonomously through its management team from its headquarters in Newport Beach. The TCW Group is an international asset management firm with more than $150 billion in assets under management and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Soceite Generale.

The new Buchanan Street CFO is Robert Clark. Also joining the firm are Brian Zulpo as SVP of asset management and Alina Mardesich as VP of business development. Clark and Zulpo will both be based at Buchanan Street's headquarters, Mardesich at the firm's Los Angeles office.

Brunswick indicates that the three new hires are the beginning of what will be a further expansion of the company's staff. "In 2008 we expect to increase our staff of experts as we continue to offer principal investments and structured finance to our growing nationwide investor base," Brunswick says.

Clark, who formerly was executive vice president of capital markets at Scanlan Kemper Bard in Portland, OR, has 20 years of commercial real estate experience, including a post as an SVP in the investment division at insurance giant Aegon. His experience includes property valuation, investment management, research and capital markets, as well as experience in private equity fund structuring and marketing.

Zulpo comes to Buchanan with more than 22 years of experience in investment management, risk analysis and strategic planning at firms including Concert Realty Partners (ING Realty Partners), Jones Lang La Salle, Heller Financial and Metropolitan Life. Mardesich joins Buchanan with nearly 20 years of experience in the Southern California commercial real estate market in posts at Fremont Investment and Loan, JE Robert Cos./Archon Group and Arthur Anderson & Co.
