Most of the stores, 98 units, are in the Southeast, 73 are in the Northeast, 53 are in California and 59 are in the Midwest. The stores, which vary in size from 1,800 sf to 11,000 sf are in malls and urban areas, as well as strip, outlet and lifestyle centers.

Fort Worth, TX-based Bombay is liquidating products in the stores through the holiday season. DJM's management says that it expects an auction on the stores to take place next month.

Bombay filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September after many months of lagging sales. The company will continue to operate 57 stores in Canada. The retailer was delisted from the New York Stock Exchange over the summer.

Locally based DJM recently sold off 61 Rag Shops locations throughout the Northeast. The real estate consulting firm is also marketing about 100 Discovery Channel locations throughout the country.
