NEWPORT BEACH, CA-Vintage Senior Living Inc., a developer and operator of assisted living facilities, has named former Archstone-Smith exec Dan Ogden to the newly created position of chief operating officer. Ogden, whose appointment takes effect immediately, will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day functions of the company, including human resources, operations and accounting.

At Archstone-Smith, which he joined in 1995 as a vice president, Ogden most recently was an executive vice president and an officer of the company, overseeing a large portfolio in the Western US. At one point he chaired the firm's operating committee.

Ogden, who is a 20-year veteran of the multifamily industry, previously served as an executive vice president with Dallas-based Mutual Real Estate Corp., where he was responsible for all property management functions. Before that, he held a variety of senior property management positions with such major firms as Lincoln Property Co., where he was a regional vice president in Chicago and Washington, DC; and Trammell Crow Co., where he was a regional manager in Chicago.

Ogden reports to the Vintage Senior Living board of directors, consisting of Eric Davidson and Brian Flornes, co-chief executive officers; and Vicki Clark, president.

Vintage Senior Living was founded in 1998 to develop, own and operate senior housing and assisted living communities throughout California, Washington and Arizona. The company operates facilities in Newport Beach, Cerritos, Placentia, Encino, Irvine, Laguna Woods, Salinas, Berkeley, Santa Rosa and Sonoma.
