PARSIPPANY, NJ-SJP Properties has major towers under way on both sides of the Hudson River, and company officials say they will seek LEED certification for both projects. Altogether, the two projects add up to more than 1.6 million sf.
"Today, more than ever, corporations are seeking buildings that are operationally efficient as well as environmentally conscious," says Steven Pozycki, president of the locally based SJP Properties. "We are committed to exceeding these corporate needs with our LEED-certified developments.
"We further intend to build on our commitment with our suburban portfolio as well," Pozycki says. "We intend to set the highest possible green standards for our development in Parsippany, Bridgewater, Iselin and throughout the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania markets."
SJP's 11 Times Square project in Manhattan is under construction at the corner of Eighth Ave. and 42nd St. Rising on spec, its 40 stories will add 1.1 million sf of space to the market, and will include a retail component.
Across the river, work is set to start for Waterfront Corporate Center III, a 14-story, 550,000-sf tower in Hoboken. It will be the third and final office building in SJP's Waterfront Corporate Center, which counts Marsh & McLennan, John Wiley & Sons' world headquarters, Sumitomo Trust and Mizuho Securities among the tenants of the first two buildings.
