Gordon Brothers-owned DJM Realty is assessing the stores' leases. Management says that discussions are already under way to sell some of the units in the portfolio.

This is not the first time that DJM has assisted in disposing of CompUSA stores. The firm was also chosen by CompUSA in February to handle the replacement of 126 stores that it decided to close.

DJM, headquartered in Melville, NY, has been involved in many similar deals as of late. It is handling the disposition of Bombay Co.'s 335 North American stores, 19 Big 5 Drug Stores in California and all 61 national locations of Rag Shops.

Gordon Brothers' executives are also trying to sell CompUSA's technical-services business CompUSA TechPro, as well as it's CompUSA.com. The firm will operate both enterprises until they are sold.
