The Columbus property is the 253,330-sf Olentangy Plaza shopping center, which is anchored by Supervalu's new natural food store Sunflower Market, as well as Marshalls and a 47,000-sf Micro Center Computer Store. The property was renovated in 1997 and is 90% leased, and was purchased from OHSTRS for $33 million, sources say.
Market Plaza is at the southwest corner of Roosevelt Road and Park Boulevard in Glen Ellyn. The 162,705-sf shopping center is anchored by a Jewel Osco, and includes a Blockbuster Video, Fashion Bug and a Panera Bread. The property was built in 1965, renovated in 1996 and is 91% leased. Lend Lease RE Investments sold the property for $36 million, sources say. Lend Lease paid $20.5 million for the property in December 2002.
Dennis Gershenson, president and CEO, said in a statement that the company hopes to add or expand at least one anchor tenant at each of the properties. Company officials did not return calls for comment.
