The move allows the San Jose, CA-based Redback, which is owned by global technology firm Ericsson, to increase its number of employees to 300 from its current total of 183. Redbank plans to hire an additional 60 workers in the area, according to a company statement.

"Canada has talented telecom engineers, specifically in the Greater Vancouver market," a Redback spokesperson tells GlobeSt.com. Worldwide, the firm employs more than 1,000 people.

The company's Vancouver deal follows a deal late last year in San Jose, where it signed a lease to occupy 318,000 sf in four buildings at the Corporate Technology Center. That facility currently holds about 500 people and can support up to 1,800.

Tonko Realty manages a commercial real estate portfolio that it says is valued at about $1.3 billion, including industrial, office and retail assets. It also has about $500 million of assets under construction.
