The repositioning will involve substantial re-tenanting for Patriot's Crossing, as it has been renamed by the Old Bridge, NJ-based Renaissance. The center lost its anchors when the 47,000-sf Pathmark supermarket closed in early 2006, after more than three decades at the site, and Staples closed a year later. The center itself was built in 1971.
Remaining tenants include Marco Polo Buffet, Tony's Pizza Café and The Cleaners, which are expected to stay. Two others, Rainbow Direct Swingsets and Jason's Furniture Liquidation, are expected to depart, with the latter already advertising a going-out-of-business sale. The center's space is being offered in units from 1,000 to 35,000 sf, according to a Renaissance spokesman.
Renaissance is planning to make an application to this township's zoning board next month for the renovation, says the spokesman. Initial plans call for site improvements, including drainage, and adding 3,000 sf to the rear of one of the store spaces.
