At full build out, the 124-acre park--the university's official research park--will offer 750,000 sf of office space. Having signed on a tenant for the second building represents a significant boost to the project, Randall Griffin, COP president and CEO, says in a prepared release. "We are pleased to sign this significant lease at M Square, exhibiting strong demand for office space in the research park. With the adjacency to the University as a research resource, the nearby Metro stop and supporting retail amenities inside the Beltway, this lease justifies our confidence in this unique site."

Earlier this year, the university's Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center signed onto 41,500 sf of space in the park's first four-story, 116,000 square foot building. That building is expected to deliver in Q2 2008.
