Kings Harbor Waterfront Village

Midway Cos. of Houston launched construction on Kings Harbor Waterfront Village in 2006, and the residential projects are the final phase in the 20-acre, mixed-use project on Lake Houston Parkway. A spokeswoman says once the residences are completed in mid-to-late 1009 and a final free-standing restaurant built, "the land we own will be fully developed."

Local developer Hahnfeld Witmer Davis began construction on the 35-brownstone Regent Square Brownstones. The two-bedroom and three-bedroom units measure from 2,450 sf to 3,300 sf and have a starting price of $300,000.

Coventry Homes of Houston has poured the foundation for 42 townhomes dubbed Villas at Kings Harbor. The one-, two- and three-bedroom townhomes start at $325,000. On the rental side, Houston-based Chancellor Development has launched construction on the 250-unit Harbor View, which will also consist of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.

The final residential project will be under the arm of Sunrise Senior Living Inc. The McLean, VA-based company will launch construction on an 80-unit assisted living facility in Aug. 2008.

The spokeswoman adds that Midway Cos. will continue to hold Kings Harbor Waterfront Village when it is completed. In addition to the residences, Kings Harbor Waterfront Village has 22,000 sf of office space and 55,000 sf of retail space. The retail and office projects are complete and in lease-up, with Midway Cos. handling the leasing in-house.

The spokeswoman tells GlobeSt.com that 2,500 sf of office space is remaining, while the retail component contains restaurants that are open or will soon open such as Raffa's American Bistro, Two Gems Ice Cream, Zammitti's, Chimichurri's South American Grill, Jackal Bar, Imagine That, the Wine Loft and Como se Dice.
