Regan will work from the company's Newport Beach, CA headquarters. He is replacing project manager Kimberly Borges, who has left for family reasons. However, Regan says the company will continue to rely on her expertise.
"We wanted to have a more centralized system, with the development guys working out of the Newport Beach headquarters," Regan says. "It's the most efficient handling to have operations out of one office than all of us going to the different regions."
Regan, who is from Phoenix, visits every other week or more often, depending on projects under development. Voit no longer has an office at 6720 Scottsdale Rd. in Scottsdale. Regan says about 2,000 sf is being built out for a new office at Anthem Gateway, a 60,000-sf office building that Voit is developing at 42104 N. Venture Dr. in Anthem. Regan says the office should be ready in about 60 days.
Regan joined Voit Development's Phoenix office in 1997 and relocated a few years later to the Southern California headquarters where he was ultimately promoted to vice president of development and acquisitions for the Los Angeles and Ventura Count regions. He will continue to work the Southern California market in addition to the Phoenix territory.
Regan admits to GlobeSt.com that the Phoenix market is in flux, but is quick to point out that Voit still has a hand in developments and is examining several potential acquisition activities, especially in Scottsdale Airpark. He says Voit's 52,903-sf Tramanto Crossing office condo project at 34975 N. North Valley Parkway in Phoenix is about 50% sold. Regan says when sales hit 75% then Voit will begin phase two.
Regan says Voit most likely will put more emphasis on acquisition in Phoenix for the near term rather than construction. "With so much built that's vacant, we don't want to add to that supply," he stresses.
