The six-story apartment building comprises a mix of studio, one- and two bedroom apartments ranging from 505 sf to 1,328 sf. Amenities include a pool and spa, a landscaped courtyard, private balconies, a sun deck with multiple barbeques and outdoor fireplaces, a media/screening room and a fitness center.

Kim Sperry, senior vice president for the Amstar Group, sees healthy demand for units at the new complex, citing "today's rising cost of transportation," as one reason for residents to choose living along major transportation arteries. The Gardens at Wilshire is located within 10 minutes from Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood and Beverly Hills, and walking distance from two Metro Red Line stations. Sperry says that all but 800 sf of the retail space is leased, with a tenant roster including Comerica Bank, Subway and Salad Farm.

Dan Chandler, president of Chandler Partners, says that developments like the Gardens at Wilshire in urban areas "are on the rise and will continue to play a critical role in the current and on-going evolution of Los Angeles." The project is the second joint venture development between the Amstar Group and Chandler Partners, with a third project slated to begin in September 2008.
