Pat Marr, Sally Wilson, Chau Leung and Todd Lippman of CB Richard Ellis represented Seyfarth Shaw in the transaction. The space became available following the merger of Dewey Ballantine and LeBoeuf Lamb last year, to form Dewey LeBoeuf. Since then Dewey has moved into LeBoeuf's offices at 1101 New York Ave. With its sublease, Seyfarth has absorbed some 85% of the space vacated by Dewey LeBoeuf, which had 13 years remaining on the lease.
Because Dewey LeBoeuf had recently completed construction in this new building developed by Akridge Co., Seyfarth Shaw realized a savings of more than $6 million in construction costs, according to CBRE's press release. CBRE did not return a call to GlobeSt.com by deadline. Construction pricing ranges from $100 per sf to $130 per f for a class A law firm build-out.
