The medical firm bought the 27 acres in 2006. Officials from the firm said in a statement that the area is growing in population and needed a medical center. "Over the next five years, the town of Fishers is estimated to see a 29% population growth, while Noblesville is projected at 18%, with a total population of more than 61,000. It is also anticipated that the Pendleton market will have an increase in residential developments over the next several years," according to the statement. Hospital officials did not return requests for comment on this story.
The new Northeast center includes Indiana's first freestanding emergency department with 11 exam rooms, four observation rooms, trauma room and a room for victims of assault. The emergency area also has a helipad for air medical transportation. The three-story main complex also has an ambulatory surgery center, an all-digital imaging center, a sleep lab, and other services. The facility also includes 5,000 sf of primary care offices and 35,000 sf of private practice physician office space.
The company expects to service more than 35,000 patients within the first year, according to the statement. The firm, sponsored by St. Louis-based Ascension Health, has 17 facilities serving 45 counties in central Indiana.
