Scott formerly was a senior vice president at AvalonBay Communities Inc., where he led the company's residential development efforts throughout the six counties of Southern California, and was responsible for the entitlement, development and construction of more than 3,400 apartment units during his six-year tenure. Al Pace, co-chairman of Urban Housing Group, says that in his new role Scott will strengthen Urban Housing Group's presence in the Southern California market.

Scott joins Urban Housing with more than 21 years of residential industry experience, including development, asset management and acquisitions of multifamily rental and for-sale communities. In addition to his post at AvalonBay, Scott has also held senior officer positions for both public and private development companies including Archstone/Smith, Lincoln Property Co., Metro Housing Partners and A-M Homes, where he was responsible for land acquisition and development of more than 5,900 multifamily homes throughout the Southwestern US over a 15-year period.

Urban Housing, which formerly was headquartered in San Mateo, CA, relocated its headquarters to El Segundo in 2006 as part of a plan to develop infill multifamily mixed-use projects in the Los Angeles area, according to a GlobeSt.com report at the time.
