Otis will be taking the 11th floor of the development, totaling 20,000 sf, Tom Murcott, an EVP with Gale International, the project's New York City-based developer, told GlobeSt.com. He says to expect more lease-signing news soon. Bloomfield Hills, MI-based Taubman Centers, which is developing the retail portion of the Songdo IDB, has announced Tesco Homeplus and Lotte Department Stores as the anchors of its portion of the project.

Construction started on the NEATT in July 2006, and the 984-foot-tall structure is set for completion in 2010. The tower will be comprised of 923,859 sf of offices and 564,329 sf of hotel space. Retail and club space will take up about 80,000 sf.

Otis' elevators are in some of the most recognizable buildings in the world, including New York City's Chrysler Building; the John Hancock Center in Chicago; the Vatican; and the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The firm was selected in the spring to install elevators in the planned, 103-story Guangzhou [China] International Financial Center.
