"We are now having 1,600 rooms in operation and under development in the highly competitive market of Paris," says Kurt Ritter, president & CEO of Rezidor, in a statement. "and more than 4,000 rooms in France, which is a new milestone in our business development."

The Paris Opera will be in the heart of the Opera Quarter on Boulevard Haussmann, 300 meters away from the Opera Garnier with 296 rooms. The building, once repositioned, will have high glass ceilings, gold embossed columns and dark wood tones, along with a the restaurant "16 Haussmann" and "The Lindbergh Bar". Other amenities will include eight meeting rooms, a business centre and a fitness area. The renovation will be complete by Q2 of 2010 as a common project between Rezidor and Westmont Hospitality.

The Paris La Defense is scheduled for the business district, roughly five minutes from the Champs-Elysees. The hotel will boast over 20 floors and 343 rooms and suites. There will be two restaurants, a lobby bar and a sky bar on the top floor, over-looking the City of Lights. The hotel will provide 1,000 square meters of conference and banqueting space.
