"The face of the HIV/AIDS epidemic is changing and it is imperative that we are able to offer programs and services that meet the needs of our children and families," said Cathy Krieger, president and CEO of the organization, in a statement. "Relocating our administrative staff to less specialized office space means that we can expand our programming at our current location to further our mission and provide for more vulnerable children and their families."

The Children's Place Association was represented in the lease by Jonathan Gordon, senior associate with Transwestern, while David Schraufnagel with Garrett Realty represented the building owner. "The space fit well with The Children's Place Association's programming needs and moving into built-out space was the most cost-effective approach to relocation," Gordon says.

He says he can't divulge the lease rate for this deal. Asking lease rates in the River West neighborhood are around $38 per square foot, gross, according to Cushman & Wakefield market research.
