Goya owns the building, and is moving from Bensenville, IL, says Robert Klinger, SVP with Transwestern. "They're current location is near the airport, and they really don't use that, this is their trucking distribution site for the Midwest," he tells GlobeSt.com. The company has some unique use needs that his company was able to fill, completing the job in six months, Klinger says, including 40-foot clear heights, high storage freezers, cooler storage, a production room and a training room. "At 40-foot, they're one of the tallest buildings out there. Since they own the building, the more vertical they can go with their product storage, the less land they take up. It's all food and spices, so it doesn't weigh a lot."
He says the 15-acre location right off of Weber Road gets them closer to interstates 355 and 80, and gains better distribution access to the Midwest. Also, it's a well-built park, Klinger says, and the building is one of the last to go up in that area.
