The two-story building will be constructed on three lots at the west end of Seagate Corporate Center and is designed to meet the growing demands for VA outpatient services. The new medical clinic will provide a center for treating veterans located in North San Diego County.
The clinic will provide services for approximately 88,000 outpatient visits per year and will be staffed by the VA San Diego Healthcare System with approximately 180 to 190 employees. The project will augment and expand services available for North San Diego County veterans.
The VA chose the Seagate Corporate Center as a convenient location to provide access to services for veterans living in the North County area of San Diego County. The location is close to Camp Pendleton, allowing easy access for the Marines who have suffered a large number of the casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan.
John Buckel of Capital Partners Development Co. will serve as the project development manager for the new facility. Leasing agents for the Seagate Corporate Center are Ron King and David Onosko, senior vice presidents with Coldwell Banker Commercial Almar Group Oncor International.
In a GlobeSt.com report on the project earlier this year, Tom McCormick, senior vice president of development for RGDC, noted that the company intends to "move this project along swiftly so that it will be up and running as soon as possible." McCormick, commenting on the groundbreaking, said that the project "is moving forward at a swift pace."
