1812 N. Moore St. is a 30-story office building with 569,739 square feet of office and 11,020 square feet of retail space. In the deal it formed with Monday Properties, Arlington will lease space that was designed for exhibition purposes--it was the DC area's former Newseum-- and that includes two galleries, a domed theater and pre-function space. The effective rent over the 15-year lease term is approximately $4.00 per square foot--plus operating expenses--according to the Arlington Economic Development Agency. The county is proposing to use the space for a new Rosslyn Cultural Center that will highlight music, theater, film, dance and other fine arts.
Although this particular lease is associated with Monday's development activities for another building, the firm has inked a handful of leases in recent weeks. Recently it signed an 11,500 square foot renewal and a 2,400 square foot expansion at 1515 Wilson Blvd. with Professional Risk Management Services. Monday relocated a tenant to another of its buildings in the submarket to provide space for Professional Risk Management. The company originally occupied 11,500 square feet and recently renewed and expanded for a total of 13,900 square feet on the 1st and 8th floors of 1515 Wilson Boulevard.
William Tidwell of Cushman & Wakefield handled the renewal and expansion for Professional Risk Management. John Wharton and Rob Bowman at Monday Properties handled their end of the transaction.
