While at Countrywide, Altvater led loan originations for the Northern California, Northwest and Intermountain regions, making approximately $1 billion in loans and completing multiple loan sales. Immediately before Countrywide, Altvater spent several years originating CMBS loans for with Bank of America and Nomura Securities. Prior to that, he spent six years as a loan workout specialist with the Fuji Bank and Mellon Bank, responsible for $600 million in assets.

Steve Swerdlow, president of CBRE's Western Division says Altvater's long-standing relationships and will further the company's mission to provide its clients a one-stop shop in today's turbulent financial market. "His veteran leadership will bolster the talented National Loan Sales team we already have in place, and significantly enhance our loan sale capabilities nationwide," he said.
