David Levy--principal of Adams & Co. and leasing agent for 317 E. 34th--represented both the tenant and the landlord, 317 East 34th St. LLC, in the transaction. Although details of the lease were undisclosed, the asking price for the space is $125 per square foot, according to a release.

"Beth Israel is one of New York City's premier hospitals and the Medical Center at 34th Street is world-renowned for hand surgery," says Levy in a release. "It was very important to keep Beth Israel in their existing space and we are pleased to have them as a tenant for eight more years."

The Hand Surgery Center at Beth Israel is considered one of the largest and most prestigious hand surgery practices in the country. It also hosts the Albert Einstein Hand Surgery Fellowship Training Program to teach and encourage young doctors to specialize in this field.

Built in 1910, the 12-story building, also known as the Medical Arts Center, is fully leased. In addition to Beth Israel, notable tenants include NYU Plastic Surgery, International Dialysis Network and the Laser Foundation.
