There was no specific closing date for the facility, which is located at 600 Carnahan Dr. A release announcing both budget slashing and facility closing indicated the distribution center would be shuttered sometime later this year. The move was part of a larger release in which the retailer said it would be required to employees at its headquarters to remain competitive in the face of growing economic uncertainty.
According to an article in Arkansas Business, the distribution center was the largest industrial employer in this town, which is located near Little Rock. The article says the appraised value of the distribution center in 2003 was about $20.7 million.
