Kevin Burns, principal and broker at the firm, points out that it has been growing along with Austin's urban core, expanding both its brokerage team and its physical space. In the past six months, Urbanspace has added 12 new residential and commercial agents, he points out.
In addition to its headquarters at the Monarch building at 801 W. Fifth St., Urbanspace continues to maintain its commercial and East End team at its Sixth & Brushy office at 900 E. Sixth St. The company offers brokerage, project marketing and development services for its residential, retail and commercial clients.
The Market District where the new Urbanspace office is located is a four-block area of Downtown Austin at the intersection of Fifth and Sixth streets and Lamar Boulevard that is slated to include shopping, dining, downtown living and other amenities. In addition to the Monarch, the district includes projects such as Austin-based Schlosser Development's Sixth & Lamar retail space and Schlosser's Fifth & Lamar mixed-use project.
Founded in 2000, Urbanspace specializes in downtown and infill condominiums, mixed-use developments and retail/commercial districts. Some of its current residential projects include Akoya, Cardinal, Greenway Lofts, Hillside, the Village on Congress. Its commercial projects include the Mosaic at the Mueller Town Center.
