The 32,290-square-foot facility cost between $10 and $15 million to construct, Charmaine Easie-Samuels, director of brand communications for Hampton Hotels, tells GlobeSt.com. It took 12 months to complete.
"The Corby site was selected due to lack of new hotel supply in the region, and expanding business base, and a whole new community rejuvenation program and brand new train station were under development," Easie-Samuels says.
The Hampton by Hilton Corby is part of a larger plan to expand the brand into the UK. Easie-Samuels tells GlobeSt.com there are plans in place to open 20 such locations in the next five years.
"The UK is an important first step for Hampton's continued growth. In Europe we see a significant opportunity to redefine the economy segment by pairing innovative design with superior customer service," Easie-Samuels says.
The next site to open will be the Hampton by Hilton Liverpool/John Lennon Airport. Additional sites are now being accessed.
The Hampton by Hilton Corby offers free daily breakfast, a fitness center and meeting space.
