The 1,800 acres is a combination of seven development sites and five farms. The collection includes 32 tracts of land ranging between 11 acres and 200 acres throughout Kearney, Liberty and Kansas City, MO. Zoning for the spaces includes residential, multi-family, commercial and agricultural.
Requests for comment were not returned in time, but according to reports, the seller is Jim Robertson, a local developer. Robertson is no stranger to the auction process. Cates has helped him divest of nearly 500 acres through two different auctions, according to a report on KansasCity.com.
Of the 1,800 acres, 161 acres have already sold according to the company website. Investors interested in viewing the sites can contact Cates ahead of time for a tour. Some properties may be purchased before the auction date depending upon investor interest.
Included in this collection is the Cedar Wood development. This 309.5-acre mixed-use project located in Kearney already has zoning in place for residential, multi-family and commercial assets. According to the Cates site, it is the largest active development in the area. The first two phases of the project have been completed, which includes 70 residential homes.
