$263 billion worth of projects

According to a Reuters report, the district will include retail components for the fashion houses, affordable housing for artists, galleries and restaurants. Additionally, there are plans in place to build a Kunsthal museum. The museum, which will not house a permanent collection, should be complete within the next 24 to 30 months.

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has a billion-dollar budget to create the trendy district. "We want to bring (works) from international museums who have universal collections of pre-historic times, contemporary, impressionist, antiquities, Islamic, and take them out of their comfortable space," Mishaal al-Gergawi, projects and events department head for the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, told Reuters.
