The property is owned by the Roberts Hotel Group, a subsidiary of the Roberts Cos. The facility was first opened in 1958 and was known as the Bel Air West Motel.

"We've had our eye on this hotel for several years now. Thanks to the design flexibility of the Hotel Indigo brand, we've been able to restore the architectural and historic detail of the building while also infusing a sophisticated and relevant design palette that's expected from a boutique hotel," says Steven Roberts, president of the Roberts Cos. "The structure showed so much promise, and we were thrilled when the opportunity came to restore it to its former glory while adding a new, chic brand to the market."

The hotel's amenities include 127 guest rooms, Phi Bar and Bistro, a business center, 1,100 square feet of meeting space, free internet access, and a 24-hour business center.

The Roberts Group will own and manage the property through a license agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group.

This facility is the first of three Hotel Indigo properties St. Louis will see in the years to come. Additional hotels are planned for University City to be open by 2011 and the downtown convention area to be functioning by 2012. The Robert Cos. owns the downtown property too.

"As the Gateway to the West, St. Louis is a vibrant, internationally renowned city with a distinctive culture that makes it popular as both a business and leisure destination, and we're pleased to be working with the Roberts Hotels Group on two projects there," says Janis Cannon, VP of global brand management for Hotel Indigo.
