Lal formerly was senior vice president and general counsel and corporate secretary at Sunstone Hotel Investors Inc., a REIT based in San Clemente. Purpero served as an associate at O'Melveny & Myers LLP in Washington DC, focusing on securities and corporate matters; Jack was CFO of the Southern California Division at Capital Pacific Homes.

Lal will oversee all of the company's legal affairs, including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, corporate finance and securities matters, public reporting requirements and corporate governance. Thompson, chairman and CEO of Thompson National, cited the new general counsel's public and private company experience and strong real estate background as factors that made him the right choice for general counsel of TNP. Before Sunstone, Lal was general counsel at RemedyTemp Inc., a publicly traded human capital resources company, and before that he was counsel at O'Melveny & Myers LLP.

Purpero, in her new post, is involved in all aspects of TNP's legal activities, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and product development, as well as directing its legal firms; however, her main focus is on regulatory matters and guidelines related to the US Securities and Exchange Commission and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Thompson notes that Purpero was named to the associate general counsel's post after his firm "conducted a comprehensive three-month search for an associate GC." Before O'Melveny & Myers in Washington, Purpero worked at KPMG LLP, providing auditing and consulting services to clients.

Jack, as corporate controller, will be involved in all aspects of the company's financial activities, including corporate and property accounting, accounts payable and receivable, as well as overseeing the accounting staff. Johnna Howard, Thompson National Properties' CFO, says that in filling the controller's slot the company was looking for someone with experience in real estate, public accounting and SEC filings. In her post at Capital Pacific Homes, Jack was responsible for financial operations and overall strategic business plan management. She oversaw 1,500 home closings and managed revenues of approximately $650 million during her tenure.

Thompson National Properties, LLC provides real estate investment opportunities and asset management to high-net-worth domestic, foreign, individual and institutional investors. As of July 28, TNP had 76 commercial properties totaling approximately 11.1 million square feet under management.
